Veer explores insecurities related to self image and self worth. I use a model who is representative of the Western ideal of beauty, with an appearance similar to a Greek/Roman statue. The use of the diptych suggests a narrative or sequence, and slight veer of the head points to the subtleties in understanding of one's beauty and worth. –Artist statement
