Self Portrait III

I paint from direct observation in 'real life,' with a small handheld mirror and work both in my studio and in my apartment.  I get inspired from common Eveready moments, such as shaving in the bathroom to passing glances caught in shop windows.  I paint about routine moments that are usually taken for granted but require intense concentration and honesty. –Artist statement
