In terms of image, I deal mostly with the human head in partial states of being and becoming.  The head provides an empathetic image and functions as a field of interaction for stylized features and signifiers.  While my general goals tend toward an expression of consciousness and conflict of the individual and society, the work does not have a literal subject.  For me, painting is not the illustration of ideas, nor simply the arrangement of form.  It is a process of discovery that necessitates the union of intuition and intellect. –Artist statement
