In Spring (Lepidopterophobia)

My work is the result of a relentless cycle of seeking inspiration through research, ideas or tableaux that impress upon me, and consumption of other media. I carve out time daily to work on art in which I synthesize images and ideas that have inspired me. On a good day, I find a perfect balance between experimentation and a loosely preconceived vision. Ideas I ruminate on that work their way into my art include solitude and how we are when no one is watching, how we engage in the space around us, sweetness and menace as not mutually exclusive traits, and spatial abstraction as a means of finding beauty. –Artist statement
