Andover Beach, Evening #2

Michael Dailey is one of the better known painters of the region.  Born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1938, he received his BA and MFA from the University of Iowa, and came to Seattle to teach at the University of Washington in 1964. He exhibits regularly in Seattle, Portland and San Francisco in solo and group exhibitions. This painting captures the gentle gradations of color present in a fading sunset or the thick atmosphere of fog as it spreads inland from the sea. has long been fascinated with the colors associated with natural light.
