This series evolved from an interest in the Kabbalists, Judaism's most ancient mystical sect.  The Judaic Tree of Life is a symbolic map that explains how energy flows down from God and into the world.  This symbolic structure shows ten sefirot, or energy centers, that represent different stages of descent.  These centers have similarities to the seven Chakras in the Eastern traditions and, in the West, Roman Catholicism's teaching of the seven sacraments.  Of primary importance to me are the connections and similarities found in seemingly differing spiritual belief systems. –Artist statement
