Deception Pass II

This was photographed from the bridge above Deception Pass on a very cold morning with low sun.  I was looking straight down to the waters and remember what my friend, the painter Leo Kenney told me, 'Dark against light gives tension.'  So I got the black rocks of the island to the left and the swirling lighter waters to the right. –Artist statement
