Double Image

A monoprint is a unique image. It is not created as a print edition, but rather is a one-of-a-kind process. The artist applies ink to a plate, lays paper on top of the plate and runs it through a printing press. The wet ink transfers to the paper leaving a reversed image. The resulting image is something half way between a painting and printmaking.
