Robe:Only from Afar

Lyman mingles traditional craft with the eye of a geometric abstractionist. The result is an object that looks as if it would be comfortable in an ethnographic exhibition of traditional African fabric design, or a show of old American quilts, or a contemporary art exhibition. The influences to this artist's work probably come from all three traditions.
