Drawing is a live wire between thinking and doing.  It is no wonder that we draw before we write.  Just as drawing is a universal language, so is the face.  All our experience is embedded there – it is the spiritual made actual.  The face is a tremendous paradox of corporeality and fleeting expression, of idiosyncrasy and universality, of whom we are versus who we may become. –Artist statement
