Phone Home is a watercolor of telephone poles and a rail crossing against a far horizon. I painted this during Inktober at Art Spot, Edmonds in 2017, trying to work out the perspective of vanishing points going two different directions. I always have fun splashing bright colors with water paints and this one made me happy.” Baechler has traveled the West extensively during careers in construction, journalism, marketing and manufacturing. He is the inventor of the Baby Jogger stroller and currently works at Boeing. –Artist statement
