Description: Licton Flow is comprised of flowing steel conduit that represents the many miles of electrified conductors that power the city of Seattle, most of which are generated by hydroelectric power. The artwork also pays homage to the nearby Licton Springs Park that had been a spiritual medicinal resource and seasonal gathering place of the Coast Salish peoples.

Artist Statement: Licton Flow symbolizes the community and natural environment.  It emerges from the ground, arranged in a slight arc gesturing towards Licton Springs Park east of the site.  Its integrated cast glass components are similar include a larger reddish/orange cast glass form to reference the significance of the Licton Springs, a Coast Salish word for “red mud." This integration of colors can speak to the overlap and common bond between SCL and Licton Springs in terms of water being a significant resource.
