Nightwatch

I use recycled material to create vibrant mosaics which engage the viewer on multiple levels. I delight in re-purposing a pile of discarded plastic cards into images that draw the viewer in to discover details then realize in surprise the materials used. In this mosaic, two ravens keep watch on the eve of battle. This image includes hints of the storied trickster spirit of Raven: the constellation Corvus shines in the upper right corner, a tree spirit peaks from a knot in the tree (it is an inverted image of Paul McCartney from a Starbucks card.) –Artist statement
