Adrienne La Faye is a Painter, an Author, and filmmaker, and a Community Social Justice Art Educator focused on chronicling the African American diaspora. “Aaron and Elmer Dixon came on my radar back 2015, when I was commissioned to paint African American/Black Seattle Icons by a private patron. My extensive research revealed to me who these amazing young men were in 1968 when they founded the Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther party. Aaron was nineteen and Elmer was seventeen, both were students at Benjamin Franklin High School, located in the Mt. Baker district of Seattle. –Artist statement
