Support Structures

This work includes many photographs of my relations with various plants, structures that are holding them, as well as a broader look at support structures across my own life. There is an image of an apple tree at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show with added apples and face. A photo of watermelon from the opening of Industry Standard at James Harris gallery, with another of my works visible in the background. My grandmother's quince tree, supported by a fence portion that my father installed. A cup with EmergenC, to support the artist's immune system, and finally an image of a sculpture from the exhibition Rock Show, at James Harris gallery, where a beer flavored with lime is suspended between a rock that has split in half. –Artist statement
