Snowdust on Painted Hills

Snowdust on Painted Hills is a memorable piece for me, as it is the second "artistic" piece after my re-entry to photography. Painted Hills is one of the three units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument and known for the colorful layers of its hills representing various geological eras. What sets this image apart from other Painted Hills images is that I took this photo during the snowstorm. After assessing the site and waiting for a while, the snow stopped suddenly. I was then able to capture the scene. The sun came out shortly after, and the snow was entirely gone within twenty minutes. –Artist statement
