Proposal (Entrance- Festa Italiana)

This painting is a maquette for a larger painting that was completed for the 1999 Millennium Festal on the campus of Seattle Center.  It is one of a series the artist did as a metaphor for the interior life of the soul and the soul’s journey towards a higher realm.  “Doorways represent that moment in time when we pause to ponder our lives. . .The landscape into the new century looks promising, the children forge ahead with hope and determination.  The little boy, however wears a helmet, just in case.” –Artist statement
