Existentialist Happy Hour

Art is a form of communication, but I do not want it to be a one-sided conversation. I try to create work that leaves plenty of room for interpretation - as does this piece - because for me, the viewer's side is as important, if not more so, than my own. When a viewer sees a different message, or new side of the work that I did not initially have in mind when creating the painting, then it gives the art new life and a broader meaning. This is a dynamic I often strive for and I consider a piece successful if it can inspire fresh perspectives. –Artist statement
