Homeless Shopping Carts

These are portraits of homeless shopping carts in Spokane, WA all shot exactly as I found them. This ongoing project uses a photojournalistic approach to reporting the effects of consumerism in the U.S. I spend a great deal of time exploring the neglected spaces of my home city, finding inspiration amongst the waste. I'm also fascinated by their stories. Some were taken to transport groceries home, some to hold ones possessions, some to collect recyclables, and some were taken just for a joyride. –Artist statement
