After working as a public defender for most of my career, I turned to photography as a means of addressing social justice issues, particularly intolerance against "the other." Many of my works merge images from the present with archival images as a means of connecting to and honoring the past. Undocumented is a photo of a DACA recipient who works for PCUN, the oldest farm workers' union in Woodburn, Oregon. The Latino community in Woodburn recognizes and pays homage to the contributions of those who paved the way for progress, including Cesar Chavez who stands behind the subject. –Artist statement
