Description: Photographic images from books and local community members are layered into a collage embedded in brightly colored glass windows.

Artist Statement: Layered images in glass windows reveal the richness of the life of the mind that takes place within these walls. Pathways into the green wood are a metaphor for the pathways of knowledge and exploration that unfold in the library. Similarly, the journey though the building follows a path through the space. Books, called “talking leaves” by some Native peoples, inspire an interplay of page, text and leaf motifs. The journey “into the woods” is also a metaphor for exploration, self-discovery and transcendence.
