Description: Cloud Stones are scattered along an approximately 350 feet path. The majority are clustered in the southern half of the park in the two larger “rooms”. The smaller northern room has two. The various sizes, shapes and colors are mixed along the path. Some are closer to the path, others further into the grassy areas.

The stones are simultaneously subtle and very apparent depending on vantage point, time of day or evening, weather, length of grass, etc. In this way they interact with the daily environmental changes. The white stones “glow” on moonlit nights while the black stones drop away. The black stones absorb the sun’s warmth and release it as night falls retaining a connection to that day’s weather and so forth. Especially engaging are the reflections in the polished stone surfaces of the sky with ever-changing arrays of clouds. The phrases sandblasted into their bases are delightful reminders of all the ways we describe the weather and our predictions of weather coming.

Cloud Stones is a quiet yet solid presence in the park with the group of stones acting like environmental sentinels.
