Feddersen, an internationally exhibited artist and a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, refers to his work as an investigation of signs merged with processes. Capitalizing on personal memory interwoven in pattern, he draws basic elements from the basket designs of his ancestors. By incorporating buildings and the contrasting matrix of the scaffolding with the basket design, Feddersen heightens the relationship between land and culture.
