Salute #3

The images in my paintings emerge from a process which begins with small scale artist's books in which I combine painted, invented images with ones that I lift through various Xerox processes.  Most of the images are put together in parts, in which the main image is associated by a secondary image.  I use bold colors and lift found images to explore my psychological and expressive interests.  I try to find visual metaphors for states of mind such as inertia, ambivalence, loss and love. –Artist statement
