My work often explores the interface between illusion and reality in both spatial and philosophical sense. Real objects are sometimes added to give the pictorial illusion a sense of physical reality. The metaphorical images represent memory, history, dreams, and desire. They refer to ideas like the big bang, conception, survival, time and change, and a gamut of emotions from fear and anger to euphoria. They also range from the commonplace to the cosmic, the micro to the macro and the ridiculous to the sublime. –Artist statement
