The unique process of the monoprint joins the exacting procedure of drypoint etching to capture a fleeting movement of time.  A monoprint is a single print made from a design that has been painted in a tacky paint or ink on a metal plate or sheet of glass which is then pressed onto paper.  The purpose of this transference is to obtain a texture and surface quality quite different from painting directly onto paper.
