Tabyeed/White Lettering Square

Traditional calligraphers in the Middle East practice by writing letters and words repeatedly, often superimposed, on sheets of paper usually called Tasweed, translated as blackening. This work is a new take on this practice where the letters combine to make the surface white rather than black. –Artist statement
