I have chosen a long narrow table to mirror the space in which a still life traditionally exists: that of the 2-dimensional painting.  The table, constructed in the classic Queen Anne style, is a fundamental aspect of the still life.  Cutting across divisions of national culture and historical period, the still life serves as a passive and dependent element. The three images reference the three necessities of human existence: food, clothing, and shelter. As photographs, the objects lose their substance and become perfect images of themselves. –Artist statement
