Pale of Water

This print is from a suite of four prints entitled The Elements.  The remaining prints include a Parcel of Land, Block of Sky and Ring of Fire.  They create a framework of the four elements of air, earth, fire and water.  The artist suggests that water can include rain, fog, steam, mist or the entire ocean.  Earth represents soil, minerals, a sphere or planet.  Developing upon the four basic elements, the artist has conceptually expanded the original context outward.
