My work connects the human body to nature in an attempt to relate to humanity. By abstracting forms, what remains shares similar rhythms, colors and textures. This language creates a visual map of human emotion. A blurred perspective from the image mimics the internal process of contemplation. The comfort of familiar elements and the opening to unknown connections, create a conscious space for the viewer to inhabit the architectural construct of the image as well as a mental landscape in which to explore concepts of human connection to self, each other, the organic and the space. –Artist statement
