Serpent Cycle is a representation of the spiritual awakening of Stutsun – one the “First Ancestors” of the Cowichan People – but also an overarching symbol of human being’s ability to bravely face their fears and challenges throughout life. Dylan Thomas has already exhibited widely and in group exhibitions with the top Coast Salish artists including Susan Point, Charles Elliott, John Marston, lessLIE, and Maynard Johnny Jr. Thomas has a diverse practice ranging from furniture design and sandblasting, to wood and stone carving, printmaking and painting, jewelry, and new media. –Artist statement
