Hendrix at Home

The dense minutiae of humanity fascinates me, and I obsessively observe the urban landscape. My camera is as much a part of my body as my arm. Every neighborhood has its own visual language. Our neighborhoods turn exotic if we observe what lies around us instead of seeing the city as an amalgam of roads and buildings. Spotting this image of Jimi Hendrix in West Seattle during an unexpected February snow turned what might have seemed ordinary into an image of significance. It became for me a statement of life and being and revolution against the white-on-white sub-urbanity of West Seattle. –Artist statement
