Metastasizing Growth

Seattle has been experiencing unparalleled growth in its urban core, visible by our continued status as the world's leader in employed tower cranes.  The growth seems like an unsustainable process from my viewpoint, like a runaway cancer metastasizing without consideration for the health of its host, so I painted the emblematic tower crane with extra booms and trusses, seemingly building itself in a subdued urban landscape. –Artist statement
