Dante waiting for the #7

This piece is a "portrait" of my childhood friend Dante. We were classmates at Columbia elementary, my first school in the States. He was kind to me. The #7 was the metro bus that ran, and still runs, on Rainier Avenue, connecting our area to downtown heading north and Rainier Beach heading south. Images and marks on the silhouette map time and space including shapes of buildings, journeys, and dreams. –Artist statement
