Description: Six wind activating rotating wheels mounted to exterior walls of the community center.

Artist Statement: This project began in 1992 in the first stages of planning for the new community center.  Since then I have met often with the Bitter Lake community and the Bitter Lake history group to develop the idea for this piece.  During the past six years I have also worked closely with the architect of the building to locate and incorporate the six elements of the artwork into the building façade.  The wheels recall the memories of many who spent time on the site of the new building when it was known to all of Seattle as the amusement park Playland.

Location: Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Avenue North, Seattle WA  98133
