Many of Eduardo Calderón's photographs are of people laboring with burdens. Portraits of a kind of human labor that is becoming more and more remote to those of us who live in an advanced, mechanized and electronically driven society.  As a result, these photographs seem stranger, more foreign and anachronistic as time passes.
