Description: Casio digital wristwatches, colored light gels creating and image of an elephant from form, light, and shadow.
Artist Statement: The story of the blind men and the elephant demonstrates a lesson that is important to consider when hearing witness testimony. Not only can witnesses profoundly disagree about what has happened but each different opinion can simultaneously be correct. The wristwatches are so many opinions of what time it is. At the birth of this artwork they were all synchronized and identical. They immediately start to vary and become individual. When each battery dies it takes its uniqueness with it. They are the same again in death, the great equalizer.
