Description: The project consists of several components.  Proverbs and Icons, by Beliz Brother and Mark Calderon, uses quotations culled from hundreds submitted by community residents.  The fourteen proverbs/quotes are made of cast-aluminum, recycled from cans donated by the community.  They are inlaid in the stair risers with a darker grout material around them.  The quotations are separated by aluminum icons of various shapes which were created by local teenagers in workshops with the artists.
