Sacrifice of the Dog

An intaglio print is created by chemically or manually carving images into a metal plate. The plate is covered with ink, with the excess wiped off the surface leaving ink in the grooves that is transferred to the paper during the printing process.  By combining the technique of collagraphy (attaching textured objects to a printing surface), the artist provides an added dimension or textured impression to the print.
