The Eagle's Nest Edition 3/20

Love of the natural environment has been the basis for Covault's artwork.  For 17 summers she and her family did commercial salmon fishing in remote western Alaska, so isolation and natural forces influence her work.  They frequently visited this eagle's nest, one of very few trees on the tundra, 20 feet tall and sculpted by the wind and weight of this huge nest.  One summer they noticed a dead seagull hanging from the nest; a warning not to get too close.
