Bending Bough II

Making images is my personal game…the work unfolds within the boundaries of self-imposed rules.  Color, pattern and design are the means.  Ink and paper are the vehicles.  A block-like structure acts as a gameboard or stage set.  It is the architecture holding the piece together.  The circle and ring shapes introduce an animated quality.  I begin with an interaction of shapes within structure.  As I play with the color relationships the texture builds…I am creating images with a celebratory and contemplative spirit.  I would like to convey a sense of charm, wonder and play.
