Monotype is a form of printmaking that provides artists the opportunity to create unique works on paper with the surface and feel of a print. The artist paints ink onto a surface, most often Plexiglas, which is then sandwiched with a piece of paper and run through a printing press. Graham is best known as a painter. This method allows her to translate her abstract painting gestures into print.
