Siembra is a desire of a future of hope and resistance for the people that live in Puerto Rico. We are an exploited Caribbean colony fighting to stay and have a dignified life on our land. In PR, more than 80% of the food we eat is imported, even though our land is fertile. That's part of the problem of being a colony. It is through art, culture, and the retake of sowing our land that we can resist our critical condition. –Artist statement
