Description: Swirls and eddies of water are referenced using enlarged fingerprint patterns, co-mingled on eye level windows with text about the police mission translated into languages of groups historically settling the Delridge area
Artist Statement: Representing the creek itself, the windows change throughout the day and night like the water’s surface, at times casting patterns on interior walls, at times reflecting light or glowing with luminosity when seen from the outside. The text is read from outside the building on Delridge, asserting the police mission to the public, and from the inside in the north police lobby, reminding officers of their role in the community.
