Bumbershoot visitors created this mural in 1974. Visitors to the festival were asked to make a design in enamel dust (powdered, colored glass) on a one inch square piece of copper. The copper was then heated with a jeweler’s torch until the glass melted and fused to the copper. The resulting glazed tiles were glued to a board to form this geometric abstraction as a record of Bumbershoot attendance.
