This piece references the traditional format and symbolism of the colonial Jacquard bedspread.  The images arise from reflecting on the reality of marriage over time.  What is unspoken, hidden, unacknowledged?  I chose to work with common images, implying alternate meanings through the manipulation of traditional modalities.  There are multiple levels of translation in the work, personal and social, philosophical and emotional. –Artist statement
