Freedom Girls is a record of growing up Chinese American during the Women's Movement and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's. My sister and I lusted for freedom and equality as minorities and young women during that time. Or voices were often hushed by our Asian Culture and in conflict with our American culture. –Artist statement
