My entire artistic career has been an homage to the feminine experience. I explore myths, folklore, and iconic artworks from Japanese and European culture, observing the consequences of being perceived as feminine in today’s world. I take these ancient stories and present them from my biracial, bicultural, femme perspective. With my hands I express the living and breathing, killing and dying, all powerful opulence of the female body through craft, honoring the right to create or destroy what lies within our own inherited underworld. –Artist statement
