Nature Museum; Yellow Tulips

This series started by making images of objects from my personal ‘nature museum’, collected over 30 years and housed in special cabinets in my studio. The process came about as a means of cataloging the hundreds of items in my collection, by using a special technique utilizing a modified flatbed scanner. I’m calling this new series “Nature Museum: Still Lifes”, which reveals my interest in 17th century Dutch still lifes/nature morte, which explored themes wherein objects became invested with deep spiritual and allegorical meaning, with a deep thread expressing the precious and transitory nature of. –Artist statement
