Ms. Hammer became interested in an architecture devoted to being inaccessible. Buildings were conceived to be less rather than more user friendly. Why ponder such an architecture? Perhaps because so much (real) contemporary architecture and urban design succeeds in being inaccessible. Artists can comment on and poke fun at our reality and by doing so expose flaws as well as beauty.
